UN PRESS DEPARTMENT

In the present world, no one can imagine world politics without the attendance of the media. It is the press that provides us with an idea about what is going on in the world. Therefore, a United Nations simulation would not be complete without a simulated world press.

A special delegation will be set up to keep all participants in the conference informed about the latest events and developments in the various forums and lobbying areas. Are member states engaging in secret negotiations to conclude a new treaty? Is there a chance of a breakthrough in the latest diplomatic developments? It is up to the United Nations Press Department to keep the delegates up to date.

During the UNISCA course, members of the United Nations Press Department will have a more specific preparation than other participants. The members of the United Nations Press Department will have a special role during the conference. They are assigned to the different committees and will write their articles for a certain newspaper. Their task is not only to write reports about the content and developments within the committees but also to write critical and provoking articles. Is the Press powerful enough to influence the resolutions of the committees?
